A second version! What a surprise! I've had it as my desktop for a long while now, which is a rare thing because I like to switch often. I changed the hue, and added a glowish blur to give it a dreamy feel. Yet it still conveys power, which gives a nice overall mix of emotions.

Well, in any event, I love the texture to the fur and the overall hazy/ethereal quality of the image. The part of his presence that is distinctly "lion-ish" works beautifully with the composition. ...Lions really do have a distinct presence... no wonder artists can do amazingly cool pieces (like this) with them...
I think my favorite parts of this are the whiskers and the fur on the chin - both came out amazingly well, in my opinion.
